Operation candy drop

This was at our church picnic (keep reading, there is a post further down about it). We were told there was going to be a surprise on this field at 6:15. We saw the helicopter make a few circles over us in the minutes before, but had no idea what was going to happen. Would we get a ride? Is Mercy Me going to hop out for a surprise performance?? :) Well, as it turns out neither of those guesses were correct, much to the delight of the children. For it is all about the children... and candy. Lots and LOTS of candy. Buckets - 5 gallon buckets. A total of 6. Filled to the top with candy. Did I mention that there was A LOT of candy? Can you see it being thrown out of the helicopter? :)

Oh my goodness!!! So did you stock up or what? Got a picture of all the candy you collected or is it already in the digestive system of the little ones running around? ;)

We have smarties coming out of our ears! We are still working on finishing a bag of lollipops from 2 years ago (um, do lollipops go bad?). Joseph did top off his bowl of cereal this morning with some gum like candy. Not the norm around here but ya know, it worked for today. Give it another day and they will forget all about our candy and it will sit with our bag of lollipops just waiting for someone to come pay it a visit.

**SIDE NOTE** I have, um, removed, the chocolate from the loot. Wouldn't want THAT to go bad. :)
