Joseph is growing up so fast. He's such a little man. He is a HUGE help to me during the day. The other day I was in desperate need of a shower before we headed out to run some errands. I put on a movie and ran upstairs for a super quick shower. I could hear Joseph talking to Nehemiah and Hannah. He was telling Hannah "It's ok Mommy will be right back. Where is your baby doll?" He was just so good - no power trips. No bossiness. So I decided that I would reward him for his behavior.
We were supposed to be checking out small items. You know like $1 or $2 stuff. I was proud but come on, it's almost his birthday AND Christmas. Everything I pointed out he turned down. Then... he saw it. The Lego aisle. I think this boy dreams Lego. He gets that from Roger. Roger has a Lego collection that would put some ebayers to shame. (go ahead, check it out. People sell them at 35 lb lots. He can beat that I tell you. He can beat that.) A few weeks ago Roger busted out one of his Lego totes. Joseph was in awe. Every day he asks if they can play Lego's. He will happily watch as Roger builds.
So there we are, in the Lego aisle... he found what he wanted. A fire rescue vehicle. I caved. I convinced myself that it would be some good Father and son time as they built the thing together. Joseph carried it around with him for the rest of the day. He was extra proud because the box says "for ages 5 and up". He's only 4. He wasn't sure the people at the store would let him buy it. He must have been extra good because they were ok with it. :) He's so cute.
When Roger got home from work they immediately sat down to create.

There it is. His first Lego masterpiece. He is very proud. So are we.

Legos are a life investment. My boys "built" with legos until they were 15, of course they would blush to know I am sharing this. Last month my husband gave my now married young mother daughter a box of her pink, gray and pale green legos, for which she and her husband sat and played with for the evening. It gives children imagination, a priceless gift !
What a fine family you have
So sweet! Great job. Isn't it amazing to watch them become "big kids"?
I am very impressed, legos and me don't mix...I get it just how I like and then press into place and the whole thing collapses into bits and pieces...urghhh!
Love the header on your blog...so sweet!
